Greater Shepparton City Council, situated in the heart of the Goulburn Valley, is the fourth largest provincial centre in Victoria and has a well-developed economy due to its strong agricultural and irrigation base, with major industries related to food processing, manufacturing and transport. The Goulburn Valley is often referred to as 'The Food Bowl of Australia' as around 25% of the total value of Victoria's agricultural production is generated in this area.

Greater Shepparton has a population of approximately 65,000, and an expenditure budget in excess of $118 million. The population is culturally diverse with 9.9% of residents being born overseas. The area has excellent education, recreation, cultural, social and health facilities and tourism is a developing focus for the region.

Full Time - Permanent 

Greater Shepparton City Council is looking to recruit a highly motivated and experienced individual to join its Works Department. This is a fantastic opportunity to come on board as a Works Officer 04 and join our enthusiastic team as a permanent employee.

The successful candidate must have experience in effectively supervising and managing a small crew. Must have demonstrated experience in Heavy Plant operations in particular Grader operations and hold a current Heavy Rigid truck licence.  The successful candidate must be able to read and interpret works plans and be familiar with setting levels and heights on the work site. All the above requirements are essential.

Council is looking for people with a positive attitude - team players who will take pride in doing the best job they can for the citizens of Greater Shepparton. All Council outdoor staff can perform roles within other work teams from time to time, providing opportunity to gain experience in other areas of work.
